Biography

Andrea Ranalli joined Telecom Italia S.p.A. in 2007, the largest Italian telecommunication operator that offers technological infrastructures and platforms, where voice and data are mixed in advanced telecommunications services, covering also the latest ICT and Media solutions. Coming from a background in Computer Science and with a Master in innovative networks and services in ICT (as well as a second Bachelor Degree in Management Engineering took on 2014), Andrea started his career in 2006 in KPMG as SAP Consultant, for then becoming a Network Technology Specialist in Telecom Italia in 2007, focusing on Wireless Sensor Network technologies. He is actively involved in the ZigBee Alliance since 2008 to standardize the Telecom Service profile and to maintain the ZigBee Gateway device specification, and in particular he certified for Telecom Italia a Gateway Attraction Layer (GAL) device that is now used in different projects related to smart grids services for residential environments and assisted living. Andrea is currently the Chairman of the Standardization Committee in the Energy@home Association (www.energy-home.it), a no-profit organization currently involving around 25 companies representing key sectors for promoting and standardizes energy efficiency scenarios for the residential buildings. Today Andrea works on the Business Positioning division (Strategy & Innovation), taking the responsibility to driven the company to innovative services and products with particular focus on Smart Homes, Access Gateway evolution and UltraHD/4K content.
